Arrived in London…

We arrived in London yesterday and said goodbye to Bao. I’m really going to miss him. His contributions to the project have been vast. We’ve traveled thousands of miles together and met hundreds of people over the past three weeks. Bao has also acted as our resident photographer. All of the photos on this website from the past three countries were courtesy of Bao Phi… poet, listener, photographer and lover of food. He definitely enjoys a good meal, a good snack, coffee, whatever and whenever. Besides eating the food he also documented it with photos (fried pigeon in Shanghai, fish tacos in Mexico, handmade chocolates in Paris). It’s interesting that many of our interviews have taken place in cafes, pubs and restaurants. People seem to be comfortable around food. They tend to forget about the camera and talk more candidly. If nothing else, perhaps we can sell this thing to the Food Channel when it’s finished.
We begin a new journey today in London with Bob Roeglin. He’ll be with us for the UK, Russia and Brazil. Welcome to Bob… thank you and farewell to Bao. We’ll post a video and photos in a few days, so stay tuned. There is much more to come on London and the UK.
